5 Reasons You Should Be Using Video in Training

Training your employees properly is extremely important to you and that's why using video in your training is HUGE! Here's 5 reasons why:

1. Everyone gets trained the same.

Whether you're a growing business or already have hundreds of employees, making sure they all receive the proper training and have an understanding of the business functions, values, and processes is so important for the overall success of the business. Video allows you to give every new employee the same knowledge they need to get started on the right foot. Even if you hire someone in HR and another person in Marketing, they both can receive a baseline video on company culture, how to request PTO, or how to use the company software. Then the HR new hire can begin a set of HR specific training video on processes and need to know information and the Marketing new hire can do the same in their respective department.

2. It's a time and money saver

Hiring a new employee doesn't have to deter from the normal business operations. Managers or supervisors can still focus on their day-to-day work while training is happening with video! This saves the supervisor time and the company money. Also, instead of spending 1 hour walking through how to do a certain procedure, they can watch a thorough walk through video in half the time. This allows you to fully train new staff much quicker and easier. They can even pause the video and take notes and start back up at their convenience.

3. It's scaleable

You can have 1 new employee every so often that receives training or you can have 100 new employees every month that receive training. It's as easy as sharing a link and as many people as you need can access the same video training. You don't have to worry about booking a large room to have your training session in, whiteboards, or other visual support because a phone or a laptop is all you need when your training is in video courses.

4. Diversify Your Training

Sitting in a classroom all day can be tedious for anybody, but video can really help diversify your training. Blending hands-on learning, in classroom lectures, gamification, and implementing video can help learner's fatigue after hours or even days of training. Diversifying your content will take your training to the next level and your employees will thank you for it.

5. Eliminate miscommunication

Video training also allows you to make your employees accountable in the future. Since they all received the same training and you can track that they actually completed it, there is really no room for miscommunication. This removes the excuse that they didn't know about certain things or that they were told differently, because it's solidified in video and can be replayed for clarity.

These are just 5 reasons why video training is highly recommended in businesses and other organizations. If you're considering adding video to your training, let us know and we'll be happy to help!
